1. Decide who you are. Pick a time period and do a little research to create a character:
* Write a diary as if you lived in that time period.
* Write a speech for your character.
* Play a game of 20 questions.
2. Create a costume:
* Make a costume from a pattern or from a pattern you make yourself.
* Make two or three accessories your character might use.
* Draw it out - sketch an outfit your character might wear.
3. Experience daily life:
* What chores or duties would your character have? Do one.
* What food would your character eat? Make a recipe.
* Where would your character live? Make a model or draw a picture of your character's home.
4. Have some old-fashioned fun:
* Make music - find a song or what type of music your character would have listened to.
* Play a game - find what kinds of games your character might have played and play one.
* Create art - find what types of art were popular in your time period and make an art piece that way.
5. Become your character:
* Make a celebration your character might have participated in.
* Have a history party with your troop. Let each girl share her character's story.
* Attend a history event in your town - a reenactment, Renaissance fair, etc.
